Where does Camelina originate from?
Camelina sativa, related to mustard and cabbage, and also known as False Flax or Gold of Pleasure has provided seed oil for human consumption for thousands of years. Up until the 1940s, camelina was one of the most important oilseed crop in eastern and central Europe. Camelina seed’s initial demand in the U.S. was for biodiesel production because of its high oil content (28%–40%). However, its high omega‐3 and minor lipid components like antioxidants, tocopherols and phytosterols make it the perfect oil for your horse.
Why should I use Australian Camelina Oil from your farm?
Our camelina seeds are processed under cold pressed conditions under 40°C retaining nutritional properties for optimum nutrition. Our proprietary process extends shelf life by using using a hydraulic press to remove the oxidant components – this retains nutrients in a superior manner. Unlike many commercial oils that use hexane to extract oil, we don’t use chemicals or solvents to extract our oil. This ensures a premium pure and natural oil with vibrant golden colour and a delicate grassy taste your horse will love! Australian camelina seeds are grown on organic soil. This drought resistant crop also means it is helping support sustainable farming practices in Australia.
How does Australian Camelina compare to other seed oils?

Camelina oil has ratio of 2:1 (omega 3 to 6) compared to other oils: olive oil (1:13), grapeseed oil (1:7), sunflower, safflour, corn, peanut, palm oil (0:high)
